Instructors
All instructors at Bikram Yoga Seacliff have been certified by Bikram Choudhury after graduating from his intensive Teacher Training Programs. All are required to Re-Certify every 3 years, and to maintain the integrity of Bikram’s Hatha Yoga system and teaching methods. We encourage our teachers to continue their study, practice, and development as teachers by returning to the Source, attending Bikram’s seminars, classes, re-visiting the Teacher Trainings, and most importantly — maintaining their own Yoga practice.

I started practicing Bikram yoga in order to keep my body fit during my career in professional theater. I realized that yoga was more than just keeping fit, but it was a powerful tool of "Self" reflection. While living and working in NYC, I finally decided why not teach what I love? I graduated in Spring 2006 at the Bikram headquarters, and immediately began teaching full time in NYC and Brooklyn. It was the easiest and most natural transition from performing on a stage everyday to sharing my love and passion for this "sacred art". Moving back home to the bay area, I began teaching at Bikram Yoga Seacliff to a wonderful community of people in the outer richmond area of SF.
What has yoga done for me? It has opened the doors to my own Self-Realization. Centeredness, devotion, humility, compassion, are just a few of the qualities that have transcended into my daily life. Yoga does not begin when you walk into the studio doors, but begins when you wake up in the morning, take a deep breathe of your own prana or Life- Force and soldier on into this human life with awareness. Yoga has taught me how to Respect: respect family, friends, strangers, animals, plants, basically anything that breathes the same breathe I do.
My best advice for beginners: let go of anything negative, and turn it into a positive. Attitude is everything! Practice with faith, be receptive to new information, respect the teacher, respect the process, then only will you begin to witness that yoga brings light into dark places!!

Tamar
I took my first Bikram yoga class in August of 2001 when I was a sophomore in college. At the time I was dealing with a lot in my life and yoga was a way to clear emotionally, physically and mentally. I became fascinated with the science of mind/body connection from that point forward.
After only 2 weeks of diligent practice I noticed so many changes in my body, mind and energy and I was hooked for life. I enjoy yoga for many reasons. Physically it keeps me healthy, strong, flexible and aligned. Mentally, I feel more clear, focused and in tune with what's important in life and well-being. Emotionally, it keeps me centered and balanced in a way that I never experienced before.
The yoga practice has given me meaning and purpose to life in a way that benefits self and others around me. Through the practice of yoga I've been able to peel away the layers that are not my true nature and live in a way that is more aligned with my true purpose. Yoga has healed me from the pain of the past and for this I'm forever grateful.
I decided to teach because after I felt the benefits I had a burning desire to share it with others.
I love working with people and bodies and I'm fascinated by the mind/body science of the eastern disciplines. I believe that now more than ever, we as a species need to connect to something inside of us. With so much going on in the world around us I've learned the only way to live a balanced, healthy life is to take care of ourselves first and in doing so we can take care of others and the planet on a larger scale. This, I believe, is the essence of the practice.
I am also trained as a Holistic Health Counselor from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and have over 500 hours of yoga training in other yoga disciplines.

Shelley
Hi, to you that is reading this! I have been doing Bikram yoga 15 years, and teaching it 13 years. The immediate improvement felt by my overall body, mind and emotions by doing Bikram yoga is phenomenal. I love to teach Bikram yoga and feel that as co-director of Seacliff and Daly City, that the yoga community creates a life of it’s own. The students themselves, teachers; and first and foremost Bikram Choudary and his Guru Bishnu Gosh, can bask in the joy and recognition for all the amazing healing that takes place from Bikram yoga inside and out of the studio. I appreciate the opportunity to share the path to healing, and the realization of self with you all. With Love, Shelley

Sahar
In 2009, Sahar received her teaching certification with Bikram’s Yoga College of India. Since then she has been dedicated to sharing the art, science and philosophy of yoga with others. Currently living & teaching in San Francisco, Sahar was first introduced to yoga while she was studying Anthropology and Biology as an undergrad at University of California Santa Cruz. At the time, Sahar was suffering from several endocrine imbalances that traditional western medicine was unable to successfully treat and through yoga she has found much relief. Sahar strongly believes in a diligent yoga practice and proper nutrition for the best physical, mental and spiritual health. Besides yoga, Sahar is passionate about animal rights, natural medicine, vegetarian cooking, and spending time with her husband & dog.

What I have come to discover for myself through Bikram Yoga is that there are many layers to this practice. I have come to appreciate what Bikram Yoga has done for me. This yoga has healed my body from trauma and over-abuse due to sports, car accidents, and multiple surgeries. It has made me physically stronger, more agile, and created balance in my body inside and out. On another level it has allowed me to be a more patient, calm, focused, and understanding person. Going deeper- it has allowed me to identify and have more clarity in who I am as a person and to allow myself to be more of that person- it is a matter of learning how to be true to self. There is more that is going on besides the 26 postures in a heated room. Through the practice of Bikram Yoga, lives are transformed- physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. What I love about being an instructor is that I get to partake and be witness to the transformations taking place in others.
The key to this yoga is to do it regularly; there is a process that the body undergoes to receive the benefits. If you are new to Bikram Yoga- my encouragement for you is to “stick with it”, do as many classes as you can each week… You’ll feel incredible for doing so.

Caroline
Caroline is from Brazil and she has been living in the Bay Area for 11 years.
She took her first Bikram Yoga class in 2004 and fell in love with the complete workout that Bikram Yoga provides.
"Practicing Bikram Yoga to me feels like my entire body is washed from inside out. It's such a release of physical, emotional and psychological stress. When I leave the room everything has been washed through my sweat and left on my towel and mat."
She became a teacher in 2008, in Mexico. After that she has dedicated her knowledge to students at Seacliff and Daly City.

Ana
Hello Yogis!! I am Ana Zuleta, I welcome you and everyone that enters this wonderful practice of Bikram Yoga!
A couple years ago I decided that I wanted to become a yoga instructor. I knew then as I know now, that sharing this wonderful gift with others would bring great joy as well as benefit to my own life.
Ana Zuleta grew up in Colombia. She later moved to Miami for a few years and then on to NYC where stress and the demands of life started to take their toll on her. The first symptoms of stress and health issues started to appear in the constant state of anxiety she felt and she knew that there was something she needed to do to change that. Just as she began her journey for change, she was introduced by a friend to the amazing world of Bikram Yoga! In July 2009, she began for the very first time to take control of her stress and began her journey on the road of Bikram yoga. Practicing three to four times a week and feeling the benefits of the practice she decided to maximize those benefits by going deeper into the meditation and asanas... That single decision has changed her life forever!
In Fall 2010 Ana entered into Bikram yoga instructor training and this experience has been the best experience of her life. Still growing and exploring her self, Ana is keeping the door open for continued learning...
Ana, now a resident of San Francisco with her two gorgeous daughters, engages in a range of things that all stem from her training and what she has learned from Bikram himself and other senior Bikram instructors over the years.
Ana is a passionate and caring instructor that is devoted to your development... she will give her heart, soul and lots of smiles as she shares in your development and growth in Bikram Yoga...
